Information on the Qualifications and Destinations of NI School Leavers in 2010/11 were released on 17th May 2012 access here

The information below will be updated for 2010/11 when data at a lower level of geography is received from the Department of Education. 

The Department of Education released the findings of the 2010 NI School Leavers Survey in May 2011 and reported that there were 1,568 school leavers in Derry LGD in 2010. 
 
  • Over half of school leavers (54%) achieved 3+ A levels (NI 51%)

  • 57% of school leavers achieved 2+ A levels (or equivalent) (NI 53%)

  • Over two thirds of school leavers (1119 or 71%) had achieved at least 5 GCSE’s at grades A-C (or equivalent) (NI 72%)

  • 57% of school leavers achieved at least 5 GCSE’s at grades A-C which included English and Maths (NI 59%)

  • Only 41 of the 1,568 school leavers (2.6%) achieved no GCSE’s (NI 2.1%)

  • 45% of school leavers continued to Higher Education (NI 42%), 30% to Further Education (NI 33%) and 18% entering training or employment (NI 19%)
