The Clipper Homecoming Festival is shaping up to be one of the largest marine events the North West has ever seen and one person that has a festival accolade to be reckoned with is Wayne Hemingway MBE. As part of the Clipper Corporate Initiative Wayne will be delivering a masterclass on his work in this field. He is one of Britain's most acclaimed designers with an impressive CV that includes the curation of cutting-edge cultural festivals such as the recent official Queen’s Diamond Jubilee party in London. The masterclass will provide an opportunity for Wayne to share best practice and innovation in major event and festival organisation and to inspire and motivate key stakeholders across business, cultural, education and community sectors to show how you can take advantage of the significant opportunities arising from the UK City of Culture in 2013.

About Wayne Hemmingway
Wayne started off as a fashion designer in the 1980s, setting up ‘Red or Dead’ and transforming it into a label that received global acclaim and was sold in a multi million cash sale in 1999. Wayne now runs HemingwayDesign, a multi disciplinary design agency led by two generations of the Hemingway family and a wider team of talented designers. He received an MBE in the June 2006 Queens Birthday List and is a writer for architectural and housing publications as well as a judge of international design competitions including the Stirling Prize and is a TV design commentator.
