City of Culture Capital Fund
In July 2010, Derry~Londonderry was awarded the designation of UK City of Culture 2013.
Ilex, through its sponsor department DSD, secured £10m in capital funding for the development of infrastructure in time for the City of Culture. The funding is to be used for public realm enhancement, the development of vital venues for City of Culture and a number of Cultural Community projects.
Following an open call, Ilex received 116 expressions of interest in Stage I of the process. From these, a total of 46 were recommended to proceed to Stage II, which is being managed by the Arts Council Northern Ireland.
